In response to an invited competition with DS+R, Media Zone is a series of inter-connected public spaces designed for a new 66,000 sqm media precinct in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

 

A series of large and semi-covered public space id offered, where the public can experience and interact with a creative environment dedicated to the creation and production of broadcast content, music, film and other forms of media and entertainment. These spaces form a network of atmosphere that infuse the public realm with a variety of sensory experiences: indoor/outdoor theaters, a dry garden, a digital souk, a green market and a variety of recreation zones.

 

A high degree of transparency in the adjacent buildings allows visitors to acknowledge and experience the activities of the many cutting-edge media production facilities on the site. The dense collection of facilities and public spaces announces Abu Dhabi’s ambition to be the center of digital creativity in the region.
